Staff confidence has been developing since the implementation of Complete P.E. and teachers are feeling more confident with their subject knowledge. The quality of teaching and learning has improved across the whole school and lessons have been engaging, fluent, well-paced, and pupils are appropriately challenged throughout.
We are proud to partner with Complete P.E. We believe Complete P.E. provides the full package of support to teachers in planning, teaching and assessing high quality PE against both physical and personal outcomes for all pupils. The fact that Complete P.E. is developed by current primary PE teachers means that the resource remains current and is ever evolving in line with the needs of teachers.
Staff are more confident in their delivery and they really enjoy going out and teaching PE. Their subject knowledge has improved and they are aware of how they can develop the whole child in each PE lesson. Staff enjoy teaching PE!
Lesson observations at the end of 2016/17 showed 28% of P.E. lessons were graded outstanding and 72% were graded as good. Complete P.E. has had a significant impact on the delivery of Physical Education across our school.
Complete P.E. has encouraged a whole staff approach to teaching PE. The subject leaders area provides teachers with continued support and confidence to teach lessons where pupils learn, progress and most importantly enjoy being physically active!
In 2015/2016 0% of staff felt confident in teaching all areas of the P.E.curriculum. Data from April 2017 shows that 100% of teachers are now confident in teaching all areas of the P.E. curriculum as a result of using Complete P.E.
Complete P.E. has helped raise the standards of teaching and learning across the whole school. Teaching has become easier for all teachers due to the resource giving clear focus and guidance, leading to increase in overall teacher’s delivery and allowing pupils to achieve at greater depths.
Assessment data from 2016 showed 85% of KS1 and 87% of KS2 pupils reached ARE. Assessment data for 2017 shows 90% of KS1 pupils reached ARE and 16% were working beyond. 90% of KS2 reached ARE and 18% were working beyond as a result of teachers using Complete P.E.
As a newly qualified teacher Complete P.E. is simple to use and has provided clarity on the PE National Curriculum. The sequences of learning are question lead with the context having clear progressions to support differentiation. The resource provides ongoing support and continually CPD and will do for years to come.
Complete P.E. has helped improve how our teachers assess and track pupils attainment in PE. The assessment tool is simple and easy to use and as a subject leader I am able to monitor the progress pupils that all are making.
